Walk The Moon Michael Jackson
25th
June

On June 25th 2009 Michael Jackson is pronounced dead at UCLA hospital- the internet hasn't been this focused on a singular topic since the Obama election- YouTube is crashing my browser, every status update on Facebook has to do with MJ, and every trending topic on Twitter is about the King of Pops' unexpected demise. If this is not proof of the publics love and adoration- nothing is. In addition to The Beatles, no one has single handedly impacted pop culture as much as MJ did.

I loved everything about Michael Jackson when I was kid. I wanted to learn to dance like him. I listened to BAD until the tape wore out. I was more excited to see Moonwalker than any other movie I can remember. When I went to Disneyland for my 10th birthday all I wanted to do was watch Captain EO

When the 2002 TV Documentary made MJ look like a child molester, I was offended by the pompous arrogance of the British interviewer. All of the trials and bad press seemed like a bunch of bull. Michael was awesome, a one-of-a-kind performer with a gift, an extraordinary human, a true artist, a visionary, and a creator.

For those of you who never saw Moonwalker as a kid, I highly suggest watching all 12 parts of it on YouTube to honor MJ's life and contribution to world, it's a solid retrospective of his life story as told through through his own eyes- and it's theatrical and entertaining.

This opening scene from Moonwalker features an amazing montage from numerous live concert versions of "Man In The Mirror."

"I maybe be a little fella, but my heart is as big as Texas. I have all the love a man can give and maybe a little bit extra" ~Michael Jackson

Michael was most certainly an amazing soul who was touched by an aspect of the human spirit that few humans are.
