Naked Snow Meditation25thDecember

Merry Christmas to all. I hope everyone is near a loved one and having a wonderful stress free break from work. The holidays are such a magical time. Please enjoy them and do not get caught up in the consumerist craze. Take time to pray and honor a higher power.
Thank god some friends came to visit me up in the hills- I was going stir crazy from being trapped up here in all the snow. We had a snow ball fight, built a snow(person), and did all the usual snowy activities. After over a week of being surrounded by the beautiful fluffy white stuff I had the idea to pray and meditate outdoors naked. I wanted to feel the delicate little pieces of nature falling from the heavens and landing on my bare flesh. First I tried sitting on a stool on my deck so I could look out at the trees and feel suspended in the air.
It was peaceful. I lasted for about 10 minutes. The physical sensation was incredible. I felt cold but not as cold as I had anticipated. I'm usually the first one in a group to start shivering outside of bar on a cold night. I think the praying is what helped. I controlled my breathing and only focused on how incredible it is to be alive and in my body. Then I figured I should go the distance and try meditating completely naked sitting in the snow.
WOW!!!!!! That was intense... I'll just say I didn't last as long as I did on the deck and leave it at that. I highly recommend trying either style next time you are looking for a way to spice up your worship or meditation. Happy holidays. ~ Rudy
