Zoroaster forever and why...17thSeptember

I, Rudy Mansfield, now consider myself a Zoroaster- a believer in Zoroastrianism. This may surprise some of you because you've never heard me nor anyone else speak of this faith... I realize that despite having never attended a Zoroaster service, nor actually knowing any Zoroasters I seem a bit phony, but it seems like a fitting faith to pledge my spiritual servitude to. Why? Because it's older than Christianity, and most importantly, I agree with their basic principles of "good thoughts, good words, good deeds."
Some of you may be asking "But Rudy, why the sudden desire to belong to an organized religion?" Because, during the upcoming election months as many peoples moral codes waver, I plan to stay strong. In order to do this I have realized the need for a strong spiritual foundation to guide me through the harrowing task of voting for the next president of our dying superpower. The skeptics may still be asking "Why not vote how you normally vote- without the aid of a church?" Because as I have matured in years I have realized that the integrity of my own mind- my rationale and reason, my experiences on earth are that of a mere mortal and are no longer sufficient to make decisions that deal with earthly matters. Like marijuana being the gateway drug to many youth- the wide eyed mixture of liberal idealism and creative anarchy I formerly believed in is now weak and flimsy- I need something STRONGER!
Since pledging my faith to Ahura Mazda I have a felt a million political sandbags lifted from my spiritual consciousness. I no longer feel obliged to read, watch, or listen to other politicians with opposing views. And, most importantly, I will not feel any guilt if the President I do vote for ends up sending our country down the proverbial toilet for the next 4 or 8 years. Thank GOD I now have a religion I can trust.
This blog is in no way an attempt to sway your spiritual faith. If you already have a god(s) to believe in I applaud you and am somewhat jealous you found your faith before I did. If you don't yet have a god why not give Mazda a test drive?
